The Countdown...

Can you believe I only have 10 weeks left in this pregnancy???

{I know I can't... starting to get a little nervous!}

I've been slacking a little on updating you on how it's been going, so I'm gonna try and catch up.

On the Agenda for this post:
  • Week 24
  • Week 27
  • Nursery Update
  • New Crib
  • Bursting Belly
  • Easter
Week 24:
24 Weeks and 5 Days
When the Dr. went to capture the pic he hurried and tried to cover up, it was pretty funny!
His cute little face!
The Dr. told us he had really good features for only being 24 weeks and that he was a "Cute boy!"  Apparently, if the kid is not a cute one he won't say anything to the parents.
{Our Dr. is pretty dang funny and makes us laugh at least once each visit!}
Everyone that sees these pics automatically says that he looks like me but I don't see it.
We forgot to ask the Dr. how much he weighed at this point and how long he measured so no update on that.

Week 27:
27 Weeks and 5 Days

Once again trying to cover up his face.  Little turd better cooperate next time we go in so we can see his face a little better!  : )
At this point I think the Dr. said he was about 15" long head-to-toe and weighed about 2 lbs.

Nursery:
We've been working our butts off trying to get his nursery remodeled which included:
  • Painting the walls "Juniper Ash"
  • Putting up window moulding
  • Putting up wainscot paneling
  • Putting up chair rail
  • Putting up crown moulding
  • Painting and caulking all the moulding and paneling
  •  Installing electronic dimmer
And here is our final product...
(Sorry, can't get a pic of the whole room without a fish-eye lense)
The color looks pretty dark in the pics but is actually a lot lighter in person, sort of a light slate grey with a little bit of blue/green in it.  And the paneling has vertical lined grooves in it which you can't see cuz of the flash.

I love the sheep skin rug!
Definitly going to be fun to take some cute naked baby pics on it!

We still have tons of shopping to do and decorating for the nursery, but hopefully we can get it wrapped up in the next month.

Crib:
We bought this beautiful crib this past weekend and I am in love with it!

I had a hard time finding a crib that I liked cuz they were all made out of that fake lightweight wood and would scratch very easily.
We found this at Baby Depot and it is super sturdy, solid wood, has tons of carved woodwork, and espresso in color!  Love it!!!
Bursting Belly:
This pic was taken at 22 Weeks...
{Just a little baby bump}
Bam!  Now at 29 Weeks it's huge!
I must say I'm not loving the whole "Torpedo" belly action thats going on, but luckily I have not gotten any stretch marks so far!
Still fit in my normal pants, but who knows how long that'll last???
{Might have to break down and go buy some "lovely" Maternity clothes}

Easter:
Easter day we went to my mom's for dinner and an Easter Egg Hunt.  Every year my mom hides one egg for each of the kids with $$$ in it since we are all a little too "old" for a real egg hunt.  This year my niece is just about 2 years old and at the age where she could go find eggs, so there was actually some eggs and other stuff outside for her to go find.  Little did we know, there was also stuff outside for Brock and I to find for Baby Meibos!
Grandma Bates and Great-Grandma Bates got him all this stuff for Easter!
Two adorable outfits, a blankie, some books, a moose pillow pet, $20 to put in his account, and the cutest bucket-full of toys to play in the sand.
Boy is he spoiled!!!

Target Ultrasound...

Today I got to go in for my Target Ultrasound at 21 weeks.  : )

Feel really bad cuz the hubby couldn't come to this appointment.  He wanted to really bad, but we're pretty sure he has the Swine Flu
Ahhhh... hopefully I dont get it.

We found out that we are for sure having a BOY!
Check it out...
Brock likes to think that his little guy is "packing the heat"!

Haha... Ok, I'm just kidding!  This is more like it...

And look at this sweet little face...
Little guy measures 6 inches head-to-rump.
Weighs in at a wopping 13 ounces

The lady said everything looks really good so far and everything is in working order!

Still measuring right on track with a July 15th due date!

20 Weeks and Counting...

I can't believe I am already 20 weeks along in this pregnancy.
{Half-Way There!}

Where has all that time gone?

Soon enough this little guy will be here with us smiling, crying, and being a happy little guy

Everyone who knows me knows when I go shopping at Ross or anywhere I hardly ever go in without getting some cute clothes for myself.  Now I find myself going in for a cute shirt and getting side-tracked in the baby section.

At least once a week I being home something new for the baby to show Brock.

Here are some of our favorites so far...
Got these adorable newborn boat shoes, high tops, and dino-converse shoes at Old Navy.
They are so tiny and adorable!
My mom recently went on a trip to South Africa and brought back these soft and cuddly Angora booties for the little guy.
I'm not a huge fan of screenprinted onesies, but I thought these were pretty stinkin' cute and matched the shoes we got him!
This little Calvin Klein outfit is so tiny but looks so grown up and sharp, it is one of my favorites!
We found this little hat at Old Navy and when I brought it home Brock LOVED it!
This little outdoor-sy jacket is one of Brock's favorites so far!
Everywhere you see guitars but I finally found some drums!  Pretty sure Brock is gonna teach this kid to drum when he is still a toddler!

Next on the agenda for this little guy is the Target Ultrasound in one week(4th).
That is where they will do a full-on check with this little guy to make sure that he is in fact a little guy(talliwacker and all) and that all his little parts in his body are in a good working order.

Once we have the final check that it is for sure a boy we are gonna start on the nursery.

This week we cleaned out our office/spare bedroom and combined our office furniture with the beat laboratory(Drum Room).  First we are gonna repaint the walls a more soothing baby color(haven't decided on color quite yet) and then we are going to put up white paneling (1/3 wall) around the room.

I am having a hard time finding bedding that I like so I am contemplating finding my own modern fabrics and making my own {we'll see how that goes}.  I'm not huge into all the "baby" stuff they have out there.

I have many cute ideas for this nursery that are definitely different than most out there.  I can't wait to finally put one of them into motion and see the outcome!

Hopefully next week I can post a pic of this little guy so you can see how big he has gotten!

Boy or Girl???

We went to the Dr. a week ago today, really excited to hopefully find out what the sex of our baby was since I was 16 weeks along.
When the Dr. walked in he asked if we wanted to know the sex and of course we said "Yes".
In fact, I told him jokingly that I was not going to leave until he told me what it was.

He gets the wand on my belly and starts moving it around and I can't see or make out anything that is on the screen.
Just our luck, the baby was head down with it's back toward us.

But the Dr. was able to move that wand around and get a sneak peek between the legs.

This is what he said, "Well I'm about 90% sure that (pointing to the screen) is his little talliwacker!"

It's a Boy!!!

I would post a pic but you can't see anything since the baby was postioned so funny, it just looks like a big blob.  He said that he is about 7 inches long and doing fine.  We go back March 4th to do the big "Target Ultrasound" where they will be able to tell us 100% what the sex is and all that other good stuff.  But I will stick with the 90% and just assume we are having a little boy!

I guess I need to stop looking at all the cute headbands, huge flowers, dresses, and bikinis...
And start looking for some Chuck Taylor's, beanies, and cute little boy clothes.

If anyone has any ideas of where to get cute boy things let me know!

I am hoping within the next month that I will actually start showing, everyone keeps asking me where this baby is cuz I don't look pregnant at all.  I am really excited to get a little baby bump and start to look like a cute little "Pregnant" wife!

My Favorites at the Moment...

I have fallen in love with these little dresses I saw while wandering around a craft fair right before Christmas...
I had just barely found out I was pregnant at the time and obviously didn't know what the gender was.  I kept thinking maybe I should just buy one since they are so cute, but they were almost $30.
Well, I got online the other day and found out they are now 50% off.  Woohoo!

They are called "Flipsee" dresses by "Mumzeys."
They are adorable reversible dresses that just tie over your little girl's shoulders and meet up in the back.

This one is called the "Retro Aqua Flipsee Dress" and it is my favorite.
This is what the other side of it looks like...

This one is called the "Sage Flipsee Dress"
With this as the reverse side.

Just have 10 more days until we find out what we're having... you know the first thing I'm buying if it's a girl! : )

So far I have found three cribs that I am totally in love with...
but do I really want to spend that much for something that will only last them a couple years???

The good thing is that they are all convertible to a toddler bed and then a twin-size bed.
 "Park Avenue" by Munire
{Maybe in a darker color?}

 "Ashbury" by Million Dollar Baby

"Larkin" by Pottery Barn

For little girls I am loving lace leggings, dresses, boots, and big flower headbands.
For little boys it is Chuck Taylors, plaid shirts, and distressed jeans.

This little one {whatever it is} is going to be one stylish cat!

I cannot even wait!!!
{Come on 27th!}

Also, the color mustard has been one of my favorites lately...
don't know why cuz it's definitely not my color!

Oh and by the way...
It's my birthday today!
23 years, weird!!!
Seems kinda old to me!?!?

Project Nursery...

If only January 27th could get here a little quicker...
I am not even caring about the 17th right now
(my birthday)!

That is the day we should be able to tell whether we are having
little princess or a little prince

I really want to get started on the nursery but of course I need to know what it's going to be cuz my ideas are so different for a boy or girl.  I found a really good website with lots of room ideas and pics if you're interested in looking called

I had tons of ideas for a little girls room but no ideas for a little guy... got tons of great ideas on this site.  Guess I have about 187 days to get ready for this little one (or so my ticker says).

They also have tons of adorable ideas for birthday parties and showers

Thanks fellow Project Nursery members for sharing your ideas with me!  I will definitely use them when this little bundle of joy gets here.

I've been Brocked...

About a week or two after being home from Mexico I noticed that I had not started my monthly regimen on time.  Didn't really think too much about it since we just got home from a long trip and we weren't really trying the month leading up to us leaving.  Figured we better go buy some tests anyways.  So we got home, I pee'd on it, waited 5 minutes, and Voila it came out positive!  We were so excited, had to go to Maddox to celebrate!  Tryed another one in the morning just to be sure it wasn't a false-positive.. Positive!  And just to be safe tried another later that night... once again Positive!  After months of ovulation testing and trying to conceive it finally came true and we are officially pregnant.  I've been to the Dr. twice and both times everything has been perfect.
"Made in Mexico"

One of the many home tests.

7.5 Weeks (Nov 30).  A whopping 7mm long!  It was our little "Bean" at this point.
11 weeks 6 days (Dec 30).  4.69cm from head to bum!  Can't believe how much it has grown in the past 4 weeks!

We go back in another 4 weeks and we should be able to tell the sex.  We were hoping for a boy so our future kids can have an older brother, but we have a feeling it is going to be our little princess!  Either way we are very excited.  I can't wait to start buying Boy or Girl clothes once we find out.  Now we gotta get the office transformed into a nursery for this little one.  July 15th can't come any quicker! :)

Halloween in Mexico...

I kind of stopped blogging when we moved into our new home over a year ago because we did not have the internet... but we now have it so, I AM BACK!!!  I don't even know where to start so I thought I would just start with our latest adventure.  We finally went on our BIG vacation to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.  It was a much overdue vacation that we loved so much.  We left October 26th, spent Halloween, and came home ten days later November 4th.  It was BEAUTIFUL there.  We went on an excursion just about every other day and in-between we would lounge around the hotel, play on the sandy white beaches, and go shopping at 5th Ave.  Here are some pics of sunny, beautiful Mexico...
First night out... it was so humid out we didn't realize the camera fogged up.
The middle of the hotel where all the restaurants, bars, and shops were located.
On the pathway to snorkeling at Yal-Ku.

Yal-Ku... GORGEOUS!

Right before we jumped in.
Waiting for the ferry to go to Cozumel.
1/4 of the way through scootering around Cozumel we stopped at this beach restaurant, Alberto's.  Probably the best fajitas I have ever had.
Spotted this guy while having lunch at the beach restaurant.  He was HUGE and so green.
A sea urchin Brock caught while we played on the beach at Cozumel.
We stopped at this blow hole on the back side of Cozumel.  It would shoot up a good 20-30 feet each time.
Still at Cozumel scootering.
Back at the hotel in the pool.  Ahhh!
We went for a late night stroll on the beach and Brock caught this little guy in his hat, so we had to bring it back for his Mom and Russ to see.
Decided to take a break from shopping at 5th Ave and have some lunch at the World-Famous Tequila Barrel.
Took the kayaks out one of the days we were at the beach... way fun!
They had an international pumpkin carving contest at the hotel and Brock was chosen to represent USA.  The pumpkins were a lot different than what we are used to and are much harder but also somewhat brittle.  When you are only given a butter knife and not the usual pumpkin carving tools it makes it a little difficult.
Voila!  This is what we ended up with.  A mow-hawked Tim Burton looking pumpkin.  It blew all the others out of the water.  Ummm... is the USA the only place that has ever heard of carving pumpkins???  Cuz it sure looked like it.
Brock had to go up on stage for the judging, it was down to the final three and of course his won!  Woohoo!
We were only there to support him while his pumpkin was being judged and we (Me, Dan, Shalease) got pulled up on stage for their Halloween show and had to do all sorts of embarrassing crap like the Mexican Bunny Hop, beer chugging contest (GROSS... I don't drink beer period), contest where we had to put our nose to a baseball bat while spinning around 10 times and running to the other side of the stage, a screaming contest, and all sorts of weird things.  Luckily the girls won the whole thing and we got medals!
One of the days we went to X-plor.  This place was loaded with tons of zip lines, stalactite river swims, river rafts, amphibious vehicles, and all kinds of cool looking stuff.  This is one of the places where you landed in the water to finish the zip line.
Waiting to look at our pictures before we left.
Each night we would come back to a new animal folded out of our towels.
Ready for our dinner reservations at Bamboo... Mmmmm!
At the obsidian factory on our way to Chichen-Itza.
A real life scorpion the caught at the obsidian factory, Yikes!
Chichen-Itza temple.
Brock's mask we bought while we were at Chichen-Itza (half living, half afterlife).
The cenote (sen-oh-tay) we went swimming at on our way home from Chichen-Itza.
Brock after doing some flips in the cenote.
All of us in our thongs (minus Dan).  Good thing you don't have to see the back! :)
Ready for the night.  Dinner reservation and shopping.
Me and Brock enjoying ourselves on the beach.
 Couldn't resist.
Had to get a pic by the Bubba Gump Shrimp sign in the Cancun Airport.
Flying on our way back from Mexico.
Flying over Texas, this pic is gorgeous!

I can't even wait for our next big trip... but I'm sure that won't be for at least another couple years (you will find out why in one of my next couple posts).  Wish we were still there and can't wait to go back some time!
